Pulled Pork Lettuce Wraps

With thanks to the Food Network, I refer you to a scrumptious Pulled Pork Recipe. Rather than serving on a hamburger bun, try serving the pulled pork in Romaine lettuce wraps to get a nice crunchy texture with your sandwich. I’m thinking too that you might add a couple cups of red wine and simmer to get a nice wine reduction for drizzle. Are you drooling yet my fellow WineTrail trekker?

The dish presents an interesting dilemma for pairing wine. It calls for either a white or a red wine. For white wine, I'm thinking pinot gris or perhaps a slightly oaked chardonnay. For red, I'm leaning toward a sangiovese or perhaps a fruit forward Rhone-blend. Try it and please let me know what you think. .
